Yes, there is a theme to this.
GORGEOUS -- this is like my favourite type of house design. there are so many of those in america (all copycats of german ones). but they're never as pretty as the real thing! that church in the back looks interesting. <3
those there in the pic are pretty much kept up for tourism purposes really ^^;mmm, i'll post a pic of two more... authentic houses later.
