woah, very nice! looks like it'd be a fun place to walk & shop around. what is that building at the way end of the street there. are you in a street car in this pic, by the way?
yep, taken from the back window of a streetcar.
the building at the end of the street is the old watertower of Mannheim.
it's surrounded by a small park area (sitting on top of an underground parking garage), where the city tends to hold all kinds of festivities regularly.
the street (under a different name) actually continues behind the water tower for another mile or so, and then, after another similar small green/park - with a pyramid-shaped planetarium on it - becomes the highway straight to Heidelberg.
