National Hero

... in the Philippines anyway. He even has a holiday there (the Monday nearest to Dec 30th every year). In Heidelberg he got a street, in Wilhelmsfeld he got a park and this statue.

    He studied medicine in Heidelberg, and lived first there, then later in that neighboring village, Wilhelmsfeld.
